First Run

The first run should remove uncertainty.

Goal

Move from "it installed" to "I proved it works."

First Run Order

  1. confirm the repo or install target is present
  2. confirm validation passes
  3. answer the short setup interview so ORCA knows what path to teach
  4. open the starter docs
  5. choose either one small ORCA workflow or the personalized demo path
  6. record what worked

Short Setup Interview

Before the first real workflow, ORCA should usually ask:

  • are you just proving ORCA works or setting up your long-term environment?
  • which harness do you actually want to use first?
  • do you need GitHub or Linear right now?
  • do you want beginner, standard, or technical guidance?
  • what is the first real task you want ORCA to help with?
  • how much explanation do you want during setup and first runs?
  • how technical can ORCA be?
  • how involved do you want to be once work starts?
  • should ORCA recommend /goal or background execution for safe bounded work, or ask first?
  • should ORCA ask more questions up front or keep the first pass minimal?
